I believe that you are the leading expert on your own life. My role is not to diagnose you from a distance or tell you how to live, but to walk alongside you as a collaborator. I am committed to providing a space defined by total transparency and zero judgment.
In this room, you are safe to be your most authentic self. I will listen deeply to your experiences and reflect what I hear, helping you clear the path toward the goals and growth you define as important. We are in this together, and you will always set the pace."
Welcome! I'm Julie Sherman, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is warm and straightforward. I focus on creating a space where you feel heard and supported as you work toward the changes you're looking for. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and my Masters of Education and Education Specialist Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Florida.
I am an LGBT identifying therapist. I have been working in the mental health field for over two years in residential and community mental health settings. Which has provided me with the experience of working with a wide variety of clients.
I work with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual orientation and gender identity concerns.
I have been a therapist since 2002. I believe in a laid back, and open "fire side" chat format to counseling. I started my career in a Christian Counseling setting with adolescents and families which progressed over to couples and eventually crossing to the LGBTQ and alternative lifestyles such as kink aware. I hold a Masters in Counseling Education from the UCF. I have learned over the years not to take myself too seriously and one should always be open and ready to adjust to change and growth.
I provide counseling services to youth, adults, couples, and families experiencing difficulties in their functioning and seeking to improve their performance.
I believe in people's ability to improve how they think, feel, and act, and to successfully navigate the adversities of life.
I earned a Master of Business Administration from The George Washington University and a Master of Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.
